Turnaround time?
I sent my slide off to James for duracoat and TFOs two weeks ago, and was wondering if anyone here can give me an idea how long I can expect this to take? I am a bit frustrated as I have emailed three times and called twice asking that someone please contact me with some kind of ETA, all with no results. Of course I want him to keep it as long as it takes to do a professional job, but I hate being kept in the dark. Can you folks give me some notion of a realistic wait time here? Thanks.

I have returned e-mail, this can take up too three weeks, basically the XD has a tight fitting dovetail. This it good but it is also bad. The tighter the fit of the sights in the dovetail the less chance they will fall off or move while shooting. This is bad becuase the Duracoat needs time to cure. I wait to put the sights back on until the finish is strong enough that it wont scratch off. The phones and e-mail I am the one that answers it so I get backed up, I appologize.

No problem, I did get the email and now better understand about the delay and so forth. Mods, you can delete my original post if you like.

Finally sent mine in!
I finally sent my slide in this week. I'm so excited to have it redone. James, I hear great things about you my man. Keep up the good work. I also sent in my Ruger P95 slide that's seen better days... it's gonna look great I'm sure.

Steve I think you package arrived damaged, we recived one today that came in a priority envelope. The envelope was ripped all the way open but both slides and payment were in there.

Thanks James. Sorry I sent PM before I saw this response. I knew they were going to damange my stuff, that's why I was so worried. The lady ripped the envelope a bit when she threw it in a bin but she said she'd tape it up and make sure it was okay. I thought she was full of crapola!
Thanks for confirmation. That's a load off my mind. |

Tip: Don't ship slides in an envelope

Wish I would have read this sooner. Just sent mine in a padded mailer. The slide is wrapped well and padded, so hopefully all will be well. I insured it, but hopefully it will not come to that.

I sent mine off last Wednesday in a box with bubble wrap all around it. I think that's the best way to ship a slide.
