how does that duracoat hold up to a kydex holster?

i have a comptac c-tac and it has torn up my stock finish on my xd40 service pretty bad. i use fp10 for lube, so as of lately rust hasnt been an issue. it has in the past when i was using remoil then clp.

what i want to know is how long the duracoat is gonna hold up. im not unreaonable, and know that a weapon that i carry everyday is gonna have some finish wear.

i also carry my parkd GI a lot, and there is hardly any finish missing on it. it also goes in a kydex holster. (sidearmor iwb) how does the duracoat compare with SA's parkerizing?

ive heard a lot of good things about james and the services he provides, and want to take the step in having my slide refinished and some meprolights installed. thanks in advance

I don't know yet, but I'd be interested in knowing this too. I just ordered a crossbreed and I'm curious how my new duracoat finish will hold.

Any spray on finish it does not matter who makes it will wear with plastic holsters. In fact when some one asks here is my sales pitch. Basically a tight plastic holster like a fobus will wear the worst. There is no give and if there is any dust/grit in the holster it is like sandpaper. The little give just rubs hard. If your a ompitition shooter who goes to the range and warms up by drawing a hundred times the I would go with something else.

i dont do any comp so i think i should be ok. if it is close to or the same as SA's parkerizing in terms of wearing, id be happy. its a matter of how much better it is than the factory brunerial.

I duracoated one of my xd's a while back (did it myself) and I use a blade tech tactical holster for it. The only spot it has worn is the front part of the slide on the corners to the right and left of the front sight where it rubs against the holster.

Other than that it works great and even those two very small worn spots haven't rusted yet so I am pretty happy with it.

Its been nearly a year since James did mine and after a very intensive match schedule this year (probably 25 or so matches), the only wear is the muzzle end and its just barely showing.

Now that I think about it, probably another half dozen steel matches that had about 35 draws per match and quite a bit of dry fire too/
