I sent two slides off to Ajames right at the end of June. The slides were being refinished only. I was just curious about the turn around time. Those of you have had slides refinished, How long did it take to get the slide back? I have spoken with him three times and he stated due to the humidity it was taking longer to cure so the sights could be reinstalled. I am not mad or anything I just tend to get impatient which I try hard to keep under control

Mine was right at 7 days with duracoat and sights. That was last September. He is a helluva lot busier and the humidity is crap right now. It is worth the wait. Just make sure it cures good after you get it back.

A little wait goes a long way.
James knows DuroCoat. For sure it needs to cure for several days. I have had four XDs DuroCoated. In fact, James has one right now. I told him that there was no hurry on the return as I knew that he would keep it until he felt all was well before shipping back to me. As noted, it takes time, just like fine wine, before James will put the sights on and then ship. Ed |

The Duracoat and sight job ajames did for me last year took about a week.
The two slides, and one sight job he's doing now has taken a while, not back yet. Part of that was because he did not have the Duracoat color I wanted in stock. Solved that issue by picking a different color. I'm hoping to have my babies back by Monday. I know the high humidty can't be helping any. Plus ajames has a reputaion for good work, so I'm certain he's quite busy. It's just that we hate to be seperated from our babies for too long. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? |
