New Style Holster-Any other suggestions
Owned an XD-9 Service Bi-Tone for a little over 2 year now. Wanted a paddle holster that would stay in place through out the day and stay on my hip when I drew my pistol. DeSanties had the Viper Holster, which was great, but over time the leather gets soft, and doesn't hold its shape up very well (most likely because I sweat too much…the result of having a big old pot belly).
I Purchased the DeSanties NYPD holster, then swapped the paddle wtih the Viper. I lost the ability to adjust the cant of the holster (only the 2 anchor screws have holes to attach to the NYPD holster, the 3rd Cant adjustment screw doesn't have a corresponding hole in the NYPD holster) It has worked out GREAT- Comfortable all day, doesn't loose its shape, and grips on like a vice- If I could ever figure out how to post photos on here I could show how it turned out. I've noticed if I use a tweed belt ever holster I have moves all over the palce. Has to be a regular 1.5" or thicker leather belt- Any other holster that work for us overweight guys? ISW just doesn't seem too comfortable. If I had that much room in my wasteband to accomidate a pistole then I would be one happy camper. SOB just sounds painful when sitting. I'm starting to have more holster then pistols...not a good thing. |

Beside my CompTac C-T.A.C. (IWB), I have a Don Hume Open Top (available at pistolgear.com) and a DeSantis Speed Scabbard for my XD45ACP. I realize none of these are paddle holsters but all are very comfortable, stay put and I'm a "full-figured" kind of guy.
