Mag Cleaning
How often would you suggest cleaning out your mags? I usually clean off the follower, every time I shoot, but i dont know how often you should disassemble the whole thing and clean it out. Should it be lubed when I put it back together?

I just disassemble and wipe out the inside of the tube and wipe the spring off. I don't lube because lube attracts dirt, grit, and grime. I just clean mine every so often, whenever I get bored...

Every few hundred rounds per mag. I disassemble and run the paper towel I used to wipe excess CLP off the pistol through the mags a couple times. The very small amount of CLP residue on the paper towel doesn't deposit in the mags but helps to clean powder and combustion residue out of them. Only takes a minute.
My most used cleaning tools I have are a couple of bamboo skewers (with the pointy tips rounded off) with a CLP wetted patch folded over it -- really gets in the nooks and crannies. The other end of it is perfect for opening up the mags.

I clean my mags every time I go to the range because I get bored when I get home.
I typically wipe out the inside of the mag body and then wipe the spring off with a lightly oiled rag and reassemble them as long as there isn't any mud or clay stuck to the follower or anything.

I never really gave cleaning the inside of my mags any thought until I started using Wolf ammo. Now, I would have to do it practically after every full mag. When I get the rest of the 700 or so rounds burned up, my XD will never again have a diet of that crap.
I never touched them when shooting brass (1st 250 rds).

I clean my mags after a match or practice session where they hit the ground. It only takes a little grit to lock up the follower and cause it to seize.
A simple with a mag brush is the way to go. It is fast and easy.
