A few questions from a new XD owner

1) Just in case I decide to play around with the .357 conversion barrel options through FireDraggon, will this void my Springfield warranty?
2) What's your preference on ammo? I'm looking at bulk Wolf, Remington UMC, and Winchester "White Box" at WalMart - all of those for practice at the range. I've also looked into the Hornady TAP, Magtech, and Black Hills ammo for home protection. But I wouldn't be opposed to any other good options available.
3) Are UTG thigh holsters any good? I'm looking at several on Ebay right now, but they are all listed for the Springfield XD45, and do not specify whether they will accept a 5" barreled weapon. If not, what is your recommendation / location to buy a thigh holster that will fit my weapon?
4) What are your preferences on sight replacements for the stock 3 dot, and what are your preferences for a better coating on the slide?

All the best,
Glenn

Man...looks like you have a laundry list already! I hear the TFO'S are the most popular, but the new suresights are getting some pretty good reviews... I have the ameriglo front tritium sight, and I love it. I need to go ahead and get the rear ones too I think...Have fun with it!!

I have TFOS and they are great

as for the fire dragon and voiding the warranty

1) I don't think so
2) if you remove it before you have to send it in for warr work they would not know.
3) what caliber do you have now because I don't think you can move up in caliber example 9mm to 357 or 40 I think only down 40 to 357 or 9mm
not positive on this but many here can confirm or correct this last statement

welcome to XD's they are a fine weapon!!!!!

The 5" XD45 will fit in the cheapo UTG thigh holster.

I got one as part of a package deal. To be honest, it's not that good of a holster. It flops around, the thumbbreak is a joke, and the "adjustability" is pretty worthless. When it comes to holsters, you do get what you pay for.

If I really wanted a thigh holster, I'd look at Blackhawk or Safariland. Since I don't want one.... It works for a quick on/off during practice.

The XD45 will also fit in there with a Streamlight M6 attached. It's tight and a beyotch to draw, but it does fit.
