SA Xdm 5.25 rear sight

Hello, I am new to xd-talk so this is my first post so bare with me.

I just received my xdm 5.25 9mm yesterday and I noticed that the rear sight, only the part with serrations to fight against glare, has a very small amount of wiggle room vertically. I know is can go down if you press on it because of spring tension but it immediately snaps back to position but once in position it has a small amount of movement upward that doesn't snap back. I was wondering if anyone else's xdm 5.25 did this? Thanks!

Most adjustable sights are like that.........thats why most defense instructors say not to use and adjustable sights for combat/carry.

Well, the 9 5.25 i have will let the rear site wiggle ever so slightly left/right, but its so small that it doesn't change the sight picture at all, and I think I would notice it since there is so little white on either side of the front site when lining up your shot.

Well, I ended up talking to Springfield and it was a defective rear sight. They have since then replaced the sight and it is rock solid! Awesome customer service!

How did they replace the rear site? Did SA just send you one for you to install or did you have to send the gun to them?

They did a warranty and I had to send my slide back to them. I had it back in about a week and a half.
