Jammed XD-9 Slide, Yes I've Searched *Fixed*
The slide on my XD-9 is jammed half way through. It has no rounds in it. Attached is a picture. Also notice the rear safety is locked as well. I have tried some of the suggestions I found, but still need help. Thank You!

were you putting it back together after a field strip? If yes, the takedown lever is in wrong position. If that is case, it is jammed on that. I have never done this, but I recall reading about this, and if memory serves the suggestion was a firm grip with one hand and a rubber mallet on back of slide with other hand. Yea, that does not sound nice, but maybe no choice.
ETA - just noticed that was your first post, so welcome to the forum

It has to be something like that...
Can you pull the slide off the front then flip the take down lever up and slide it back together?

Take a crescent wrench on the guide rod and pop the guide rod forward by smacking the wrench with a hammer thats the easiest way. Some times you can take a rubber mallet and smack the back of the slide to unjam the slide.

@CdnInAz Yes is was during a simple takedown. I used a rubber mallet to slam the back of the slide into normal position but the slide is still locked. Now the gun looks like the attached picture. The rear safety is now unlocked. @NETWizz I am not sure what you mean exactly.

I think I would now try to move the take down lever up to the 12 oclock position, drop the striker, you said it was not loaded and do a visual on the chamber indicator, and see of the slide will move forward.

The slider needs to be locked in the back position to move the take down lever up because of the grooves in the slider itself. To drop the striker plate and remove the spring and pin I would need to move the slider back about 3/16" minimum. I have tried to move the slider back a bit but it seems welded. I have already nicked the plastic like material of the handle trying.

It looks that way. I think that his guide rod was not centered when he reassembled it. I read that this is one way to get it stuck. I think that somehow his barrel and guiderod are now off track.
