Shooting Low

My XDM 40, 4.5 inch barrel is grouping 3 inches low at 10 yards. This is consistent, I get the same grouping shooting off bags on the bench as I do shooting in a combat stance. Since the sights are not adjustable how can this be corrected? Do I replace the front sight?

Is it 3 inches low for 6 o'clock or point of aim? Which sight picture do you use?

You could get an adjustable rear sight but it really comes down to what the gun is used for.

Try sight picture 3 you'll prob be dead on. Sight picture 3 is point of aim. None of those sight pictures in that chart are right or wrong they are all proper sight pictures of different techniques.

Hi TCS_DXM,
Great job in helpping out with the sight picture. That the same way I do it on any weapon I shoot. When I was LEO we shot the PPC. Just a great job.
Thanks,

I find I have to use point of aim for my XD-S. It flat chews up the X ring!

Yep, Sight picture 3 for me too. Point of aim puts me right on at 10 yrds and sight picture 2 for 25 yrds. Works for mine.

I agree w/TCS XDM.
I thought all XDm's were made to shoot POA if I remember correctly. All mine do anyway.

The XD 's are at the factory set of a 6 o'clock hold @25 yards ( page 40 in the manual). I assume the XD m is the same

I have an xd 40 that consistently shoots 4 to 5 inches to the left at 50 ft. Ive shot off a bag, the bench, standing. My dad shot the gun with the same result. I shoot right handed, so does he. I dont have this issue with any of my other firearms so I dont think that I am pulling or pushing while firing. I aim center and Im off to the left. I aim at the right side of the circle and I hit center. Any help out there?
