Striker spring guide

Are you referring to the "cocked status indicator guide"? The small hole on the very rear of the slide? This is plastic from SA. Aftermarket they are aluminum I think. I put one in my XDM for the heck of it.

the only thing i have herd failing on a xd or xdm is the striker pin

Hmmm, I tried to find the piece I was referring too. It seems it is no longer offered. The stock part must be holding up just fine. LoL. I believe Canyon Creek were the ones offering it. Not sure tho.

When I was reinstalling the retainer clip and the spring guide,,, WHAM........... That was the very first thing that I lost. I swear it evaporated in to thin air. I never found the damn thing. I just ordered the aluminum one.

I'm a LOT more careful now and with the PRP reduced pressure spring set, its a LOT easier to reassemble.

I've not had any issues on mine in 11,000 rounds, but I have heard of them breaking as folks remove or re-install the striker spring assembly.
