I recently purchased a full size,used XD9 with two 16 round magazines.

The pistol appears to be in very good shape, shoots like a dream, accurate,

reliable. The only downside is that the slide does not lock back when the

magazines empty. It does this with both mags.

I need to know what is wrong so I can fix it. I plan to use it to shoot

competition as it came with a holster and magazine holster.

Insert empty mag, rack slide, does the slide lock back? If so then your thumb is depressing the slide lock when you fire the pistol.
