Bottom line. Find what works for you and use it.

Its still a valid question. I know I question what to use all the time and by asking this, maybe it saves us some $.
My current system has me soaking the barrel, slide and springs in a ziploc bag with all items ina bath of whatever solvent I am using.. after 5 min I pull them out and start wiping them down. I think I am using the Winchester stuff currently. I finish by coating all the parts with some rem oil and reassembling them.
I still want to find something else and know that if I had "Super Lube" available nearby, I would have it for all the metal to metal contact points.

I saw a guy on youtube cleaning his glock and he liked to use Shooters Choice to lube the pistol. i haven't had any experience with it. I use Hoppes #9 and Hoppes oil because it was sold as a set. No problems. But i wonder why use a grease instead of oil?

Well I can say for sure I wont be doing that...
I guess i'm missing the point as to why you pointed out the main ingredients in Hoppes... Is there a reason why I should switch gun cleaners???
Honestly, I do not know much about cleaners. I've always though if it cleaned my gun, I knew people that used it, and I've never had a problem with it in the past, then there's no reason to question or switch to another cleaner.

CLP and LSA on certain parts. I use Hoppe's to clean the barrel after a long shooting session.

I use Hoppes 9. But I'm probably going to try something else since there seems to be better ones on the market.

I used to use Hoppes 9 and then CLP but then I found out about Weapon Shield from here and tried it out. I used it on guns that I had already cleaned with CLP and the cleaning patches kept coming out dirty after using the Weapon Shield. Works really well as a cleaner and a lubricant.

I have used hoppes #9 cleaner for over 60 years and have no complaints.
Just use it in a ventilated area.
