malfunction

Shooting my XD tactical .40 today when the trigger didn't appear to reset and the striker is cocked. Can't disassemble the gun with the striker cocked. Any Ideas? The gun is clear I can cycle the action. Something appears to have broken in the trigger mechanism. I have some aftermarket work done to the trigger so I suspect Springfield is out of the question.

I think this'll work...

Make sure the gun is empty. Push the grip safety down and use a small punch or screwdriver to push the sear down. There's a small gap at the back of the slide that will allow you to insert the screwdriver or punch so that you can push the sear down. You must have the grip safety down in order for this to work.

Thanks, I took a screwdriver and pushed up on the trigger bar through the mag well, this allowed the striker to fall. Now I've just got to figure out whats broken

I found that the trigger bar had rubbed through the trigger spring. Turns out I had a spare from a trigger kit for an XDM. Don't know if this was just a freak incident or something to keep an eye one. The gun has a couple of seasons of USPSA since the
trigger job was done.

You can't ask Springfield to look at it, it isn't their work. Poster said he had aftermarket work done to the trigger.
