My XD 9MM Service
So I am going on my first full year. I am frightenly low on the round count scale. Just surpassed 5k rounds. Just two malfunction's which were both caused by shooter error. The modifications began as I got more into my gunsmithing courses with AGI. The modifications' began with simple things.
Don's Solid Guide Rod, with a Wilson Combat Spring.
PistolGear Slide Stop
PRP Over Travel Stop
Cleaning up factory parts
Undercut the trigger guard
Stippled the grip and some of the trigger guard
Accesories include:
CTC Grips(which don't fit after my aggresive stipple job)
Streamlight TLR- 3
Raven Concealment Holster

5K is nothing to be frightened about, really good compared to how many I shoot. Good to hear your interest in doing work yourself, I wish I could take the time and do half that.. Your gunsmithing knowledge will pay off soon if it has not already. Congrats, Good Looking Gun !!!

So about 100 rounds per week. That's a pretty good count as far as I am concerned.

Yeah about 200 rounds every other week for a while, then a couple big trips usually about 500 rounds each. One trip totaled to be about 700, The reason it dissapointed me was because of all the missed oppurtunities throughout the year. Anyways alot of dry fire practice abounds as my Californian body goes into hibernation during winter.

Yeah I am going out to shoot tomorrow. Surpassed the 6k mark just after posting after Christmas. Welcome to the site! Its not so much about round count, it is what you are doing with those rounds chunked down range.

Well it's been a while, hope all is well for all of you. On my first post I was grinding past 6,000 rounds. I am happy to return now 12,000 rounds further into my journey with the XD 9mm Service. I have learned much with this pistol. Not only marksmanship and running the pistol, but also being a guinea pig for my gunsmithing.
I am rather excited to be moving into the competition field this year in IDPA, I will be starting out with my trusty ole' XD on my hip, but sadly will be transitioning to a Glock 19 around March! Damn those little black plastic things!!! LOL.
