Q. How long will the recoil spring assembly last? Should I change it after a pre-determined amount of shots fired?

In a previous post, someone said SA was very strict about changing your recoil assy after 2000 rounds, here is a reply from SA after inquiry about replacement .

If the recoil assembly has worn prematurely, and is causing a problem with the function of the pistol, it will be covered under warranty. We do not have an actual round count as to when the recoil assembly will need to be replaced. This would be determined by the caliber of the pistol, the type of load being put through it and so on. There are many variables involved. It is warranted for function from the factory, but not if it has just been worn out. I have heard of many of them lasting well beyond 10,000 rounds. If you would like us to take a look at your pistol for you, we would certainly be happy to. Those recoil assemblies are available from us. They are available for purchase and cost $14 apiece.
