The end-all-be-all Grease vs Oil Thread

Which do you prefer, why do you prefer it, and how do you apply it?

I prefer Tetra Gun Grease, because it works well, holds up well to the heavy usage, and stays where you put it. I actually will cut off the end of a q-tip that I used for solvent, and use the stick end to apply sparingly and spread it out. Keeps the wife at bay about our mysterious disappearing q-tips. lol

I use whatever is the cheapest cost/mL gun oil at Wal-Mart. I'm not one who puts tens of thousands of rounds through my guns so eeking out that last little bit of friction/wear isn't that important to me. We're probably talking only a few percentage points one way or the other between the *best* and the *whatever*.

I just use Hoppes 9 to clean and oil.

Gun Butter for rails and point that rub against each other. Use the needle tip applicator of the bottle it comes in. I spread it on the rail with fine tip plastic gun cleaning tool.

Rem Oil on pivot points. Applied with General brand precision oiler.

EEzox on areas I don't want rust (except inside of barrel - rem oil there). Use cotton pad.

I use Slide Glide on the rails and Gun Butter oil on other contact parts of all my handguns.
As far as "whatever is cheapest" doesn't work for me, there is nothing cheap about any of my firearms or their purposes...
But whatever works for you is peachy with me...
