Factory feed ramp came polished.
I have noticed that several people have mentioned polishing the feed ramp to help improve feeding. Mine is one of the newest pistols out with the thumb safety. It came from the factory with a mirror shine on the feed ramp. I have polished a number of 1911's over the years and the XD looked every bit as good. Is this a new feature that the older pistols did not have?
Just curious, ES |

I dont know about the older ones, but my 3 week old xd45 without the external safety--feed ramp was polished from the factory too.

I've been wondering the same thing myself, with all the feed ramp polishing talk.
Mine has a very well polished feed ramp, and I see no need to further polish it.

MIne looked pretty good as well but after I did a good hand polish on it at home it came out even better.

My feed ramp had a mirror shine polish to it out of the box when I got it about 4-5 months ago...

the DOB on my 45 service is october 2007, and it came with a polished feed ramp. 500 rounds through it and it's still shiny. nothing involved other than a bore brush, mil-tech and some patches.
