26,000 rounds...
Met a guy today that has an XD45 Tactical and an XD45 Compact. He told me that he has an estimated 26,000 rounds through the Tactical alone. He is retired...and shoots almost daily at the local gun club.
We disassembled it and other than finish wear (expected)...it looked to be in VERY good shape. He carries BOTH guns day in and day out...down here in Florida and he is heavy...sweats a lot...and no rust issues...trusts his life EVERY DAY to XD's with collectively over 40,000 rounds through them. Does this surprise you? I was duly impressed.

*does some quick math*
Wow, at discount prices for factory loaded ammo, that's like $11,000. I don't know what reloads can save you, but even if it's 50%, that's still a lot of money spent on ammo.

Its not an XD, but a friend of mine that works for the Feds had a tad over 40,000 through his Sig before he turned it in. He probably shot that in about 2 or 3yrs.
It helps when he is a training officer and works the range alot. |
