To do a fair comparison, one would have to test the PRP and Springer kit using the same pistol or two pistols that have the same stock trigger. I have four XDs and my gf has one and each stock trigger is slightly different.

The Safety Lever is what makes the difference. The $12 OTS just cleans up the slack. Being that the OTS is only $12, why not get both?

so what I've read, is this correct?
Powder River - fixes preT and overT
Springer Precision Kit - fixes preT, overT, trigger reset, lowered trigger weight

So springer replaces more parts, so more expensive but is more comprehensive in the modifications to the trigger? Would either of these mods be recommended for a carry weapon?

The PRP kit improves:
pre-travel
over-travel
reset
and with springs reduces the pull weight

also check into the canyon creek spring kit.
i put one in my xd40 service and it took the trigger from 5 lbs to 3.2lbs averaged over 5 pulls. it was also only $20. i also put the springer kit in my xd45 and it gave a shorter trigger pull and was much nicer than stock but the pull was 4.1lbs but that could be just the difference between the 45 and 40 so keep that in mind that its not a fair comparison since its 2 different guns

i will say that i love both of those kits but i will also say that i think the canyon creek spring kit is a much better value vs performance standpoint. i do love the spring kit though. but if cost is an issue go for the canyon creek spring kit.

i dont have any expierence with the powder river parts but everyone does seem happy but for what ever reason i like springer more, im not exactly sure why but it might be that it seems that springer has more expierence with the xd and xd parts. they also have really good service and are just a great company to do business with

here is the canyon creek kit im talking about.

PISTOLGEAR | YOUR ONE-STOP SHOP FOR ALL SPRINGFIELD XD

also since it is just a spring swap it will be enharently more reliable. how ever i havent had many issues with the springer kit, just some fitting issues in the begining but i havent had any problems with the CC spring kit.
if you have any specific questions just ask

The Canyon Creek kit at that link is 'just' the springs, it will not change the pre-travel or reset. The PRP and Springer kits can use other brand springs (or the stock SA springs) as well. Don't mix apples and oranges in the comparisons.

Both pistols were XD45s and both had pretty much the exact stick trigger travel and weight. If I handed you my pistol and my buddies and I told you I could do my trigger job for $50-60 or his for $120-130 you will pick mine every time they are really that close. I like the Springer kit I just dont think it is worth double the price of the Powder river kit and canyons spring kit.
