First shot with the XD .45, I nailed the center of the target with Winchester WB (Walmart). This was after warming up with my Walther PPS 9mm (i.e. cheaper cartridges to warm up with!) over a dozen pulls of the trigger. It was a couple weeks since my last outing with the PPS.
I noticed the XD shots are hitting slightly right, but in a good grouping on the 12-inch target; perhaps the sights are off a tad. Definitely a bit more kick than the Walther, which shoots low and sometimes to the right if I don't watch it and compensate for the differences in guns (low shooting is a common PPS comment). Apparently, I made good choices with both weapons (I almost bought an XD9 Compact until I felt the Walther in my hand). I confirmed today that the XD in .45 is an excellent pistol.

Good to hear you like shooting your 45c. I sure enjoy mine.
It could be you, instead of the pistol shooting to the right. I would give it a good bit more range time before determining if the sights need to be adjusted. Try shooting off a rest, also.

I love my XD45c, accurate right out of the box but then again all my XDs were accurate out of the box. Glad your enjoying it.

You're lefthanded aren't you? You make an excellent choice buying the XD45. Congratulations

Definitely a lefty, so the XD quickly made my short list, since most other manufacturers don't really care about my 10% of the population.

Low and right left handed shooter. Try shooting with just the pad of your finger on the pad. It really sounds like you have too much of you finger on the trigger causing you to push your shots low and right. Practice with the pad on the trigger and squeezing the trigger straight back. I'll bet both gun's accuracy will improve.
