I'm workin with Rich at Canyon Creek on the following setup:
XD45 ACP, 5" tactical in black finish -Carry trigger job, 4 lbs and overtravel adjustment -Tungsten rod -Mag release extension -Slide release extension -Installation of XS 24/7 big dot night sights (front & rear) Hopefully it will be ready sooner than later. What i have to do now is order those 13 rd magazines, a holster and possibly a double mag pouch. I'll break in and practice with the gun before i start looking into other stuff, ie Arredondo mag extension. Anyone have any comments/suggestions? I'm really excited as this will be my first time leaving behind my Sig P226 Last edited by crushload; 07-04-2008 at 03:19 AM. |

Looks like an awesome setup. +1 on the extra mags... you'll need them.

One of my buddies has the big dot 24/7 on his 1911. We shot some IDPA targets with it and no sight is faster to aquire up close. The trade off is that at any real distiance the front sight is so big that it looks preportional to a basketball. At 25 yards or so, it totally obfiscating a head shot. Given that this is an unlikely distiance for handgun combat, If you plan on any longr range shooting it is just too big.

yeah i plan on doing most of my shooting within 15 yards. so, NO headshots from 25 yds LOL.
i'm having trouble getting a hold of Canyon Creek to check the status of my order, but once i get everything in i'll post some pics and prolly do a write-up of my impressions---hopefully sooner than later. |
