Can't drop a magazine on a hard surface.

I went to the local gun shop this morning to pick up a new magazine. The gunsmith told me not to drop it on a concrete floor like at the indoor range. Several action shooting sports like IPSC require fast reloads and it is not uncommon for shooters to drop magazines that are not yet empty. Apparently, the plastic floor plates on XD magazine will not tollerate this without bumper pads. Have any of you broken one? Will Springfield replace them under the warranty?

I've dropped mine countless times. No problems. Haven't even scratched.

The first question was "Can I..." This one is starts with "Can't" so it must be different.

Same answer as I had in the first thread...

I'd rather have my XD and not need it, then need it and not have it....

The first time I was asking if they will break. Now that I know that they can, what I am trying to ask is...Have any of you broken one? Will Springfield replace them under the warranty? I have a match coming up and may not have my bumper pads by then.

Thanks for the clarification. I don't know for sure, but I doubt that such damage would be covered under warranty.

Mags do break. Feed lips get bent. Mags wear out. At some point, you are simply going to have to buy more.

With the elections coming in November, I would be buying several high capacity magazine for your gun(s) regardless of if one may get broken in competition or not.
