SA XD45 Service Model Range Report
I picked up a SA XD45 4" and took her to the range today.I found the gun to be more accurate then my Glocks that I owned or own and the XD has a better grip angle and feel IMO compared to my Glocks or Sigs.I shot 100 rounds of 230gr FMJ and JHP from 20 yards and she functioned flawless with both Rem UMC and Speer GD ammo. This is my new duty weapon for work(Armored Car Driver)and I would recommend this weapon to anyone looking for a good polymer 45acp.The trigger on these pistols IMO feels better then Glock which to me has a crunchy take up where the SA XD is very smooth all the way to the point of break. The SA XD seems to naturally fall back on target every time, only my CZ 75B 9mm has ever done that for me.

MOHAA, Good shooting. Yes the XD is a well made pistol. I have the same one as you. I have put just over 2000 rds through it so far with now problems. It seems to eat anything I put through it. I had a trigger job done on it and changed out my sights to fiberoptic front and adjustable rear. Last edited by CTrider XD; 06-23-2008 at 12:50 PM. |

Nice shooting. I think many would agree that the CZ shoots similar to the XD, probably due to the similar grip angles. If you like CZ, then you'll really like XD! I replaced my CZ PCR with the XD45 because I like the .45ACP better than 9mm for carry.

Hey folks! First post, so go easy...
I picked up a new XD45 with thumb safety because I was looking for a home defense gun with a light rail and I had been drooling over the 13rd capacity since they came out with the XD45. As a die hard 1911 shooter (hence the security blanket of the thumb safety), I have to say adjusting to the pull on the DA trigger was an issue for me, but after a while I was almost giddy over the groups I was managing with the XD! (Not anything like the photo here, but impressive, even lined up against the Kimber, which doesn't suck!) Another convert - shooting is believing. I have to admit, I'm torn over which gun to carry now - maybe both... I picked up a Crossbreed Super-Tuck holster for it just in case; everybody needs options!
