Ultimate 45 for carry

Just wanted to share the good news- I'm sending my 45 service to springer to get it chopped down to compact size. While Scott has it- I'm going to have him do the carry job on the trigger. From what I've read it almost has no travel and a smooth crisp break at 4lbs. I have only heard great things about his work and can't wait to get it back and hit the range. This is also my IDPA pistol as well. The last thing I will add is a good set of night sights. But this will be enough for now. When I get it back I will post pictures and give a range report. This is my Fathers Day gift .....

Scott did the work on my XD. You'll be very pleased with the outcome.

I had no idea that the compact 45 was around the same size as the G19 until a member posted the side by side photo comparison. Yes, I cant wait to get it back and of course I will post photos and give a range report. I have carried the 45 service , quite a bit , but the size is hard to conceal. Thats why I'm getting it cut down. I want to carry it more often- and the size will make it conceal a lot easier with the shorter grip. And I'm looking forward to the trigger work as well.

Just a curious question :

Does getting a "chop job" void the manufactor's warranty? Reason why I ask is I've been thinking about getting one done to my .45 Service, or selling/trading it in for a Compact.
