First day with my new XD45c
I finally bought my very first pistol, an XD45c, and tonight was my first time to shoot it.
I shot consistently at the bottom left of the target in a 6-8 inch spread. I couldn't figure out why for the life of me. I soon realized I was slapping the trigger like a shotgun and anticipating the "bang", thus compensating by pulling down and to the left. Once I realized my error, I adjusted my behavior and my shots began to gather around the center of the target in three inch clusters. I'll hopefully hit the range once a week to improve my shooting. |

Congrats on the new XD. You will probably see an improvment in your shooting the more you go to the range. Its good that you noticed what you were doing wrong right away. It is a pretty common mistake, I did the same thing when I first started shooting.

your really going to love the 45C the more you shoot it the better you get and the more you shoot and the better you get and the more you...sorry I was just remembering how it was and still is for me with any of my XDs but I really love my XD 45C. By the way I had the same problem at first noticed my mistake and corrected it and started hitting center target at 15 yards on a regular basis.Start saving your money because you will soon want another Xd and then another it's ok to admit to having the XD sickness because we all have it. welcome aboard.

Congrats on your new pistol. You made an excellent choice. I have one like yours and I love it more everyday. The more you shoot, your accuracy will get better. You wont be disappointed.

Congrats on acquiring a fine pistol. It's truly remarkable that you were able to figure out why you were shooting low/left. Usually, folks need to be coached on such matters.
