Light/accessory rail not 1913 compatable? - XDTalk Forums - Your HS2000/SA-XD Information Source!

Hello,
This is my first post as I bought my first XD today! It is the full sized tactical model with a thumb safety and is still in new unfired condition. I just tried to install my StreamLight TLR-1 and it would not fit. It has the standard 1913 Picitinny rail insert and fits all my other weapons. Upon close examination I discovered that the slots in the frame of the pistol are slightly narrower. But get this, the cast rail on the double magazine holder and the front of the plastic holster it came with fit the light with the 1913 insert just fine. I installed the Glock insert into the StreamLight and it went on with no problem but I would rather not have to go through that procedure to change the light from one weapon to another. Is something wrong with my new XD? Can I get the slot milled out to fit the 1913? Or is it made to fit some other mounting system?

Most of my railed pistols have an undersize Pic slot, only my CZs have full blown Picatinny rails.
