It is 2 guns in one!
Picked up my XD 45c from my friend & FFL dealer today, and i like it.
I ran 8 rounds thru both mags (10 & 13) at around 10 yds and it was quite accurate. I'll shoot 100 to 150 rnds. this weekend. It gets back on target quick. I believe it has less muzzle flip than my 1911 Govt. model. Trigger take up is long, and so is re-set, but the poundage is good & breaks clean. I've got a SL & OTS ordered from Powder River that should take care of this. I like the mag loader, but the holster's (mag & gun) are... well, i'll be getting something different, but it's better than nothing now. This is going to be a CC pistol and i like the 10 rnd. mag for this, but the 13 rounder fits my hand better. This pistol truly is, 2 guns in one. |

I just bought the XD45C also. I've mentioned this on another thread but with the 10 rd mag it is virtually the same size (and conceales the same) as my G19.
I had a couple of guys at the range shoot it and they really liked it and commented that they thought the recoil was very manageable. |

2 guns in one???
I have both the 4 & 5 inch compacts and like them both. The compact idea was a great one. I also own a smith & wesson M&P 45 and they now offer an extended magazine and it looks horriable, sticking way out of the gun. If you feel you need the extra rounds buy the XD or a Glock.

This is a bit off the topic and has probably been covered elsewhere, but a friend and I at the range today were talking about what we would choose if we could only have one handgun.
What I have now is a Kahr PM 9, a Taurus 1911, A Browning Buckmark .22 and and XD 9 Service. We are both interested in SD, Target and competition. I really thought about it seriously and the XD won hands down. The Good! 1. Cheaper ammo than the .45. 2. Almost as concealable as the Kahr PM 9. 3. As or almost as accurate as the 1911. (I think the only difference is the 5" barrel on the 1911 vs 4". 4. The Buckmark of course is in no way either concealable or self defense. 5. Easier to carry than the .45 for long periods and more concealable.. The Bad: 1. At our club competition consists of both center fire and .22 so I'd be out without the Buckmark. 2. Not quite as good for SD as the .45 but not all that bad with good ammo. The most surprising thing to me was finding that when I got my newest IWB holster it was nearly as concealable as the Kahr and only slightly less comfortable to carry than the Kahr and a lot more comfortable for me to carry than the 1911. Easy choice. My XD rocks. (But I'm not giving up my others. |

Welcome. You definably don't have to convince this crowd the XD is a great gun! Enjoy the forum..

i have the xd45 service and conceal carry it daily. its a breeze to do and i love the 13+1 capacity. if i shoot true, thats fourteen zombies i can waste before reloading. don't think i would trade mine for a compact and a hundred bux.
