Excessive wear on barrel and Slide?

Hello all, I have an SAXD 45 compact. I just purchased it new about a month ago and have since then only fired 150 rounds out of it. I noticed during cleaning that the upper and lower portions of the barrel have an unusual looking wear patter on them, and the upper portion of the inside of the slide (right above the barrel when assembled) has a small spot where the finish has worn off of it. The center of the guide rod on the end that contacts the barrel block no longer has any finish on it either. I have a few other semi-auto pistols that have a lot more than 150 rounds out of them that don't have this type of wear on them. The XD, however, is the only pistol I have or have had that the barrel tips when unlocking. Is this a sign for concern, or am I just reading into this a bit too much?

The area of the barrel that you are talking about will get some wear marks on them. This is normal, although you do want to lubricate this area after cleaning.

If you do a rough polish on the barrel you won't notice this as much. Getting a mirror polish will do just the opposite...instead of the action making it shinier, it dulls it. If you just get it shiny, but where you can still see the machine marks, you can run a ton of ammo through it with no noticeable difference.

The wear you are talking about is normal as these parts are suppose to make contact with other parts. Nothing to worry about.

I figured I was just getting concerned over nothing, but never hurts to be sure. Thanks everyone for your input.
