Smile Wolf Ammo binding in magazine

First off.....hello everyone. I'm new here.....

I'm an active member on ar15armory.com so this format is far from new to me...but seeing how I just bought my first XD, I'm just now finding my way to this XD forumn.

I know it's kind of rude to start asking questions on your very first post.....but I really don't know of anyone better to ask about this and figured...why waste a separate post.....so here goes:

I can't fit 13 rounds of Wolf .45 ACP into my Magazine to save my life.....once I get up to 11 or 12 those steel cases bind together in a way that doesn't allow me to compress the spring any further.

I've tried and tried...and it doesn't matter how hard I push down on the loader tool....that 12th round just won't go down far enough to fit a 13th round in there.....am I the only one with this problem?

I've shot almost 1k of Wolf thru mine. I do remember having some "binding" issues in the beginning. One of the first things I did with my mags was to strip & clean them, and then give the chromed part a Blue Wonder Armadillo treatment inside and out. Never had a problem again.

Welcome

Mags are new and the springs are still. It will get easier, and all 13 will fit.

Thanks guys....You put my mind at ease....

After reading Dosei's post I stripped, cleaned and lubed the mags....

I tried again...and although it was still extremely tight I did manage to get that 13th round in each of the two magazines.

I imagine you're right that over time it will get easier.

Thanks again.

It does. I can easily fit 13 rounds of Wolf into my mags.

Welcome to the forum.

I didn't have that problem with Wolf ammo.
But I did put 500 rounds of WWB through the mags before I got the Wolf.

So, what about brass-cased ammo? Can you get 13 rounds in the mags easily? BTW, other than some kind of dry lube, I don't believe you're supposed to lube mags.

If you don't have Blue Wonder Armadillo, you could use car wax. Not quite as durable as Armadillo, but the same concept. Dry lube is very important in mags, never use a wet lube.
