I don't believe EFK Firedragon or Bar-Sto does porting. An extended, ported barrel isn't exactly germane to the OP's question.

If I were to send out a pistol for ports to be cut on my existing pistol, it would be Magnaport. My Model 60 S&W had been there, and it was a very effective mod.

I just like the less permanent idea of a drop in ported barrel that's extended a bit. Like I said, I'm just cuirous how they would do.

What "work" was that, selling you a ported barrel?

If it is for target work, go ahead.

If it is a defensive gun... reconsider.

Porting blasts hot gasses and flames upward. If you are shooting defnsively in low light, you can virtually blind yourself with the excessive flash.

Also, in very close quarters (inside arms reach), you will likely be firing from "retention", just clear of your holster, or from a point-and-shoot lower-than-eye-level position, and the blast and debris can fly right up in your face.

I owned a Glock 23C (Compensated) and it DID reduce muzzle flip, but shooting in low light will ruin your night-vision for follow-up shots.

I had Mag na porting done on my smith 642, and it really depends what ammo you use, Speer Gold Dot produce muzzle flash while 158gr +p nyclads don't. But what muzzle flash it does produce isn't any more than normal. And yes I have shoot it in low light with verious types of rounds.
