Those with the XD.45 compact and XD9SC please step in...

Do you find the XD9SC easier to carry than the .45? I am thinking of
adding the SC to the collection (okay to go with the ONE other handgun I have now) and was wondering if you find it easier to carry.

I do. My XD45C was my primary CCW for awhile and I absolutely loved it. However it is a big gun, or at least it feels that way to me tucked in the waistband. I prefer to carry IWB, usually under a t-shirt. I could pull this off with the XD45C, but when I got my XD9SC it was so much easier to do that the subcompact is now my favorite carry pistol.

When I choose to carry a .45, I prefer a single stack, again because of my carry method. It can be done with the XD45C but the width, while not as bad as say, a Glock 30, is still noticable. In that caliber I prefer either my Ruger P345 or my SA1911-A1 for their thinness.

I only own the 9SC, however I have concealed a 45C at the shop. They felt about the same for me. Grip length is more noticeable for me then barrel length. yes, there was a difference, but it was negligible.

I have both. I bought the 9mm sc for my carry gun and found it easy to conceal. When the 45c came out last year I gave the 9mm sc to my wife and i have carried my 45 for over a year now. I carry it with the compact magazine in and I carry IWB at 1-2 o'clock. I am an average size guy, 6ft 200lbs. Hope that helps.

I'm 6' and 150 lbs and I carry the XD45 compact daily. I have no trouble concealing while carrying IWB. I wear it slightly behind my hip and if the shirt is somewhat tight, I wear it farther around the back so it's more tucked against my back.

jtkratzer/Tx.Xd.45guy-

What kind of holster do y'all carry in? I've been looking for an IWB holster for my 4" XD45C.

Thanks

+1
I own both XD9sc and XD45 compact.
I've actually been carrying my new S&W 642 for the last two months, but usually carry the XD9sc in a Crossbreed Quikclip IWB holster.
Although some will disagree, I find the shorter barrel/slide of the XD9sc (a tad more than an inch) is easier to conceal.
The XD9sc is also 3 oz (+ ammo, 11 rds of 9mm vs 11 rds of 45ACP) lighter than the XD45C.
The XD9sc grip is only a quarter inch shorter than the XD45C, and that is taken up with my Pearce finger extensions.
I've carried both but favor the XD9sc.
I like it so much I've sent it off to Tripp's for a hard chrome job before Tripp's stops doing them.
My XD45 compact has become more of a range/home defense/hobby gun.
I'm getting some parts polished and I'll post pics as soon as I get it back together.
Here are a few side by side pics I took last year.

Buy both and see what works best for you.................

I carried in a SideArmor IWB for a while and liked it. I traded it for a CrossBreed Supertuck and I like that as well. The next leather/kydex hybrid holster I buy will be a CompTac Minotaur Spartan or MTAC.

I have the comp tac minotaur MTAC, and the CTAC. I like the CTAC better because the leather on the MTAC folds over the top of the holster and makes it harder to re-holster. The problem is really with my large waist line, but the CTAC tends to work better for me being as big as I am.

Some people are bothered by the CTAC because it rests directly on your skin, but it doesn't bother me as long as the gun is in the holster (99% of the time), but if I take the gun out to clean it, and leave the holster in my waist band then my belly roll feels it when I sit down (ouch).

Both holsters conceal very well even in tight shirts, and both allow you to tuck in your shirt (needed in my job). Hope this helps, their are a lot of good choices out there to pick from.

When did 6ft 200lbs become average?
