For the moment maybe, but my point is, if the GAP round doesnt GET popular, there wont be much of it around. Its already more difficult to get than before. You cant just go down to Wal Mart and pick up a box of Blazer in .45gap.

Not busting on you, just trying to get you to think through this before you waste money on something that will become a shelf piece . . . possibly.

On the other hand, if GAP doesnt become popular and most companies stop making .45gap pistols, they might become collectible items.

Not I. It was my original choice for my first XD but after reading all the flak about the round not having the popularity it needs to continue I chose .45acp.

I know its supposed to be a good round. Just it didnt get the support from LE and Military that it needed to really get off the ground.

Got nothing against the 45 GAP round just the poor implementation of the round in the XD frame. Just like the XD-40 the XD-45GAP was a bastardization of the XD-9 frame. The Magazine capacity for both was never what it should have been had they just made a new frame to accepts magazine the proper width for double stacks of each round.

Xd 45 Gap

In fact, the 45 GAP is just a good as the 45 ACP, I have both, and guess what, the 45 GAP is slightly LESS expensive to reload, than the ACP, and the GAP has comparable ballistics. Be open minded to improvments, there is nothing not to like about the GAP.

Just what makes it less expensive to reload?

Small pistol primers?? Slightly less powder charges? I'm just guessing.
