Mags hard to release when full?

I will be getting my ccw soon and just bought some hp's for my XD .45.
I have had my XD since last october and have about 2000 rounds through it but never really loaded all 13 rounds in the mag. Usually at the range, I will load ten rounds at a time and the mag release is easy to push. I just put 13 rounds in one of my mags and it was harder to push the mag all the way in than it mormally is. Then I had to press the release pretty hard too far it to fall out. Is this normal?

a full mag is going to be harder to put in and eject with the mag release because the full mag puts more spring force pushing down, causing more friction on the mag release. if you push up on the bottom of the full mag when you push the mag releas button it will be much easier.

For my subcompact, it's slightly more difficult to insert a full loaded mag...but not much. I wouldn't consider it a problem. I haven't noticed the mags being unusually hard to release when full, either.

That pretty much holds true for all the handguns I've handled.

Normal for most semi-auto handguns. My beretta w/a 18 round mec-gar is T I G H T fitting and pretty hard to release. The best way I've found to do it is to press the bang switch 19 times then it drops out of the gun pretty easily.

Mag Release Button Hard

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY NEW XD 40 I SENT IT BACK TO SPRINGFIELD AND THEY SAID THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT, WHEN IT CAME BACK IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, SO I CALLED THEM UP THEIR ANSWER WAS GET THIS ONLY LOAD 9 ROUNDS IN THE MAG AND NOT TEN AND IT WILL WORK FINE AND IT DOES BUT THAT'S BESIDES THE POINT A 10 ROUND SPRINGFIELD MAGAZINE SHOULD WORK WITH ALL TEN ROUNDS IN IT. THE MAG RELEASE BUTTON IS SO HARD TO PRESS BY THUMB I HAVE TO USE A HANDLE OF A SCREW DRIVER TO PRESS IT IN TO RELEASE THE MAGAZINE. AND MY HANDS ARE STRONG, SO I AM PRESSING THE BUTTON AS HARD AS I CAN. THIS DOES NOT MAKE FOR A GOOD SELF DEFENSE CARRY GUN. UNLESS I CARRY A SCREW DRIVER WITH ME HA HA HA BUT THAT'S WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING WITH THIS NEW XD GUN.I SHOULD OF BOUGHT A GLOCK INSTEAD
