And then pull you head out of your wazoo. It's called spring tension and it is normal. When, someone please tell me WHEN would you ever need to drop a FULL mag out of a gun while the slide is forward in a defensive situation......the need does not exist. And....if....for some stupid reason...you actually need to....just bump the bottom of the mag while pressing the mag release and ..... presto ....! Jeez...why is it people just don't get this.... And BTW...Glocks are no different. Load a mag to max capacity and put it in the gun and ....whatayaknow...the mag release is hard to push. Some people can't even insert a fully loaded 10 round mag into a Glock 30 if the slide is forward....spring tension (and weak users). "does not make for a good defensive weapon"....... Actually, it makes for a great defensive weapon. When the gun is loaded to max capacity, it is extremely unlikely that the mag will be accidentally ejected from the weapon, that is a GOOD thing people. OK...done ranting....for now...

to make things move smoother sit infront of the tv with your new mag and laod/unload the mag over and over and over. this will losen up the spring.
When I first got my XD I NEEDED to use the mag loader to get the last couple rounds into the magazine. after a while it got easier, and now I can load both mags to max without the mag loader (and hell i can now get an extra round in my 12 round mag) when a mag is fully loaded it is going to be a littler stiffer to get in and out when the slide is closed. if you have to remove the full magazine simply push up on the base of the mag while you push the mag releas button and it will be easy as pie. your going to have the same problem with almost any new gun. |

Dirty Harry: just a few points to ponder, first off, look down at your keyboard...... see that little key beside the "A"?????? press that puppy..... next, i think you meant to type Glock Talk instead of www.xdtalk.com, didnt you?????? because the only Kool-aid we drink here comes in the little packets with Hawaiian Punch and Lemondade...... and yes, you should have bought a Glock....everyone knows they are the ONLY handgun worth buying...... NOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTT........ now pull your head out of Gastons rear-end and realize this is normal for autos....and personally, im glad my XD has a tight mag release.....and i dont think i will ever need to eject a FULL magazine at any time, only EMPTY ones........
