I just went to dougs shootn sprot and held theirs. Its not for sale. However I did nto really like it. compared to my other 3 XDs the trigger on this one was BAD. Seriously. Heavy with lots of pull. I did like the slide melting and the the grip was differnt (all my handguns are XDs, 4th is on order now). Also for the price.... a little steep. Your moving into Sig territory for a match barrel XD. Hopefully the prices do come down but ill stick with my plain XDs, but XD please increase the 40 mag. Oh and the 40 XDm and 40XD do not interchange mags.

What I want to know is are the internals the same. Will it be possible to use current XD aftermarket parts in the new XD(M)?
I wouldn't think so. This is a different gun not a couple cosmetic changes. non captive guide rod, mags don't interchange, different slide stop. I don't know about 'internals' but looking at the frame and the trigger mechanisms, it is different. Don't know the name of the parts but could tell it was not the same as the XD's.

Different trigger, do not know if I like it, pull might be a little shorter but feels heavier. It does fit well in a Blackhawk Serpa, with about 1/4 inch sticking out of the bottom.

Priced here 640 black, 699 stainless.

I am real interested to see the mag capacity on the 9.

I'm willing to bet that the mag capacity on the 9mm won't be any significant improvement.

My understanding is that the reason why the XDm in .40 saw such a dramatic increase in mag capacity is that the XDm was designed around the .40. In the original XD, they basically took the 9mm frame and slide and threw a .40 barrel in it which means that the mag well would not accomodate a true .40 double-stack magazine, which limited the capacity of the gun.

Actually, I take that back. With a magazine well designed around a true .40 double-stack magazine, if they use the same frame for the 9mm, there may be more room to stick a few more nine-milly rounds in there.

Whatever. I'm no engineer or gunsmith. I'm just an anonymous Internet user talkin' out my a$$!!

If you need a place to shoot it, I have full access to our police range in Orem. All you gotta do is bring the XDm (and let me shoot it.)
