Ed's Red + Springfield XD?
I am the proud new owner of an XD .45 (thanks Barack and Hillary for loaning me my own money in the form of a stimulus check to buy it with).
Being as this is my first "plastic" gun, should I be concerned with using Ed's Red to clean it? How about Brakleen? Can't wait until Saturday to put some lead down range in it! TIA |

i wouldnt worry to much, the polymer used in an Xd is some seriously tough stuff.. it has been tested in some nasty stuff and keeps on tickin...now i wouldnt go soaking it in solvent, but i wouldnt worry about cleaning it with anything.

from what i've read, you shouldn't use chlorinated brake cleaner on polymers..
