In general, reset length = pull length+overtravel. Specifically, your reset is the length from where your tigger bar winds up, backwards and upwards until it gets behind the catch on the striker safety lever. Since you cannot change the rotation rate, and shouldn't change the pull length by other means, you have to lessen overtravel.

So, if ALL you want is lessened reset, you can either install an overtravel adjustment screw or a Springer trigger bar. Any other mods will change pretravel, necessarily, and therefore, where in your trigger pull that bang happens.

I think you are making a wrong assumption that a competition trigger equates to a light trigger pull, it does not. First of all getting a reliable striker operated gun with a 2.5# trigger pull may not be realistic while maintaining consistent primer detonation. Many competitors prefer trigger pulls in the 4# range but want it to be smooth and consistent and most of all predictable with as little unnecessary travel as possible. The major difference between a competition gun and a carry gun is in the area of pre-travel and trigger reset as mentioned before. Carry guns should have a little more margin of safety than a competition gun because there is inherent safety build into a competitive event that may not be possible on the street or in your home.

"You're a better man than I am Gunga Din" but I don't do this for a living either. I have done 1911 and revolvers at and below 2.5# but I have never gotten a striker gun to work reliably in that range.
