Anyone wish to compare the XD45 and the FNP-45?
If you own or have shot both, I'd be interested in your iimpressions, no need to get down in the weeds, just general observations. Thanks.

I had a chance to shoot a FNP 45 today and loved it. shot about 100 rounds of UMC Rem 230g.
Felt really good and shot very accurate, felt very nice shooting it. Trigger needed work, but hey it was new . . . I'm not gonna sell one of my XD's to buy one, nope, but I like this gun enough to want one. Maybe replace my Ruger P345 as my carry gun with this. 4.5" barrell, 3 x 14 round magazines, tact rail, decocker....

Haven't shot the FNP-45, just the .40. It rubbed my finger against the trigger guard.
I fondled a FNP-45 today at the local Impact Guns store. It's a BIG gun. I couldn't carry it concealed very well, I think. LARGE grip circumference. Broad slide. Long grip. Supposed to be a single-action variant this fall... |

I am just toying with the idea of getting another polymer .45 to spice things up and I really can't afford another HK (have the P2000 and P30) plus approximately 25-30 percent of the cost of a new HK is now due to the weakened dollar versus the Euro - you are not getting 25-30 percent more gun.
I am just wondering if the flat optional backstrap on the FN is adequate for small handed shooters and how it compares to the XD45. I wish my dealer had one in stock so I could handle.

Consider the slimmed-down Glock 21 SF.
