Gun Range Morons
So I went to the range yesterday to pop off a few and the place is dead, almost nobody shooting yesterday for some reason. They tell me which stall to shoot in and I go.
I begin shooting and within five minutes, a group of 5 guys walk in. Not only are they all shooting in the same stall(which is not allowed, only 3 to a stall), but they decide they can move my range bag off the shelf behind me and put it on the floor so that they could make room for their bags. That's when I had enough. I asked the "leader" of the group who moved my bag and why? He claimed he knew nothing about it and the other 4 idiots said the same. Now I'm pissed because myself and the 5 idiots are the only people there and a bag doesn't have legs. It doesn't take much to upset me because my fuse is very short. So rather than talk to the turd at the front desk who obviously isn't doing his job correctly and probably wouldn't help me much, I took matters into my own hands and pulled all 5 of their bags and put them on the floor and pulled mine off the floor and back on the shelf, and I just stood there waiting for a reaction. Needless to say they thought I was crazy and sent one of the 5 idiots to the front desk to change stalls. After a minute or so, the idiot returned and all 5 idiots were in a different stall far away from me. Made my day!

I was at the range last week when these two bros from da hood walks in and could not read the range rules without lots of help from the guy at the desk. When these two came back to the range, they began waving guns around everywhere. I was glad they blew through all their ammo in about 10 minutes and left.

Similar experience. Some homies came to a range when i lived in NY and decided to fire guns gangster style (sideways/drive by). they were promptly removed.

i was qualifying for my job, we used s&w .357 revolvers. after the hours of safety and orientation it was fairly evident that we were to fire double action only, no single action.
i shot all of my rounds for the course of fire, holstered and put my hands behind my back. i watched a lady a few targets down cock the hammer and shoot. the instructor came over and gave her directions not to do that. again she reached up and cocked the hammer back. the range instructor yelled something at her about stop and she turned towards him, and me, with the hammer cocked, finger on the trigger and said what the eff are you talking about? i am not sure what happened next, it was pretty fast. he spun her toward the target with his hand on the gun and then took it from her without incident. talk about pucker factor..... now the instructors at that agency wear loaded side arms at all times during the range training. i think it is a good idea just in case some one loses it..... and i hate it when the homies come to the range. i took a lady friend of mine and my wife to the range to shoot and look at guns for CHL. a couple of thugs came up with their glocks and started showing off. they were staring and making remarks so i put the XD down and broke out the AK. after putting a mag down range they from my ak they decided they should move WWWAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY down the line. and like mentioned before they shot with the gun sideways and ran through their ammo quick.

the homies show off, but could not hit the broad side of a barn. they pop off 15 rounds and maybe one hits the target.

The "homie" I saw come into the one indoor range I've shot at had to rent his "gat" but still shot it sideways and fast. The target was at the 7 yard line and looked like a giant cheese grater. He did this with a 92FS not a Glock.
edit-He had his "girl" watching him from outside the range thought he window. My wife was standing one lane over from me putting all her rounds from her 1911 clone though a space about the size of a paperplate at 15 yards.

not to stereo type, but if there are guys at a range that look like snoop dogg or JayZ, and point a gun sideways, they are not NRA members, nor are they there for any particular good.

Were you looking for a fight at the range? Looks like it. Was that a good idea in retrospect? I don't think so. You may want to work on that fuse when you are packing.

There should be some new rules at the gun range, just a few off the top of my head:
1. NO homies allowed, PERIOD!!! 2. Anyone in the range with you must be shooting, otherwise go home. 3. Only the 'allowable" amount of people in the range stall, not you and 5 of your homeboys. 4. NO sideways gripping and firing, i.e. Homie style driveby shooting. 5. If you've never shot a gun before or not sure of the method, bring someone with you that does. Sorry but I don't have time to give you "pointers" while I'm trying to shoot at the range. 6. Be respectful, mindful, and courteous to shooters around you. 7. Don't shoot anything other than the damn target, that means no shooting at the walls, buckets, etc... I don't wanna die from your dumbass firing off a ricochet.

I'm glad that the range i go to is basicaly a big farm with a bunch of pits scattered threwout. people come down and just find their own pit set up their own targets and shoot how ever they want. You never end up closer than 200 feet to the nearest shooter, so it just doesn't matter if some one comes in all home boy style and does nothing but rapid fire.
oh and the other benifit is its donation only, and you can bring your own targets, you can set up your own obsticals to practice any situation you want, and if you just want to go shooting with a group of buddies you can take lawn chairs and a grill and make a day of it. |
