Thumbs up

I shoot at a private (club) range. One guest per member (although we're sloppy about that). No "staff", so you do pretty much what you please, except we're not allowed to use "human" targets, and only lead ball.

The place is out in the middle of nowhere, so I always carry something besides whatever I'm shooting. Non-issue.... One of the members questioned that, but accepted the logic, and the "that one stays locked down"....

The closest thing I've had to a problem was at a public range about four years ago. An older (yikes - I'm 62) gentleman was firing something that must have been a 10mm hot loaded. I needed better muffs .... He finished up and left before I could ask him what it was. (Fairly ordinary looking 1911-ish gun, but his stuff was louder at my stall than mine was....

Regards,

Did it come in little cardboard boxes?

Likely older US military .45 auto. One of my buddies is Navy, been in since before Vietnam, and has a pretty good stockpile of goodies stashed away. One day he offered to let me shoot his 1911 (which was actually made circa 1911-1913 and still going strong -- I don't know where he got it but he's had it quite a while) with some old military ball ammo. He let me shoot a couple of boxes of that and beyond the noise, the recoil is astounding.

had some crazy guy with a .50 revolver 2 stalls down from me. it was so loud, it actually hurt my ear (with protection on).

next to that, black powder muskets are the loudest i have ever experienced.

I didn't notice the packaging. Could have been, I suppose. I always have visions of stuff you handle with remote-actuators and keep in lead containers ....

Before I could ask, or really scope it out, he finished up and left.

The Mark II Homeboys have extended sights on the left side for holding it over your head.
