A few years back, a buddy and I go to a range for some practice. Same story, two guys come in looking like something off a rap video and I'm already shaking my head wondering if it is time to leave before these goofballs start up.

The thing I did notice is while these guys were loud, their weapons handling was perfect. Opened up their range bags and started unloading enough weapons and ammo to start a good sized war. Started shooting and man, every shot is right on target.

Talking to the range owner, he said that they were undercover cops and came out to this range to practice because no one would make them here.

Just proof that you can't always judge a book by its cover.

I'm assuming the undercover cops were still in their "undercover" disguises being that you thought they looked like they belonged in a rap video. But why would two cops go to the range in their disguises?? Isn't that kinda weird?

Ah, the joys of having your own range 100 yards out the back door! I don't miss city life at all.

The assclowns I've seen at the range are the ones "who've been doing this forever" and break every safety rule. And the, "I'm in the military" guys who obviously didn't even pay attention in basic.

I've only seen one guy shooting 'gangsta' style and he was a buff 6'5" (or so) white guy showing off for his girlfriend.

Because of this I'm finding some of these stories hard to believe. But who knows, there's no shortage of idiots in this world.

The good news is no laws were broken and no lives lost.

Keep in mind that you won't always win the confrontation. Even the good guys wait for backup. Some who don't have neat services where thier bride is given a neatly folded flag.

i am not sure what happened next, it was pretty fast. he spun her toward the target with his hand on the gun and then took it from her without incident. talk about pucker factor.....

now the instructors at that agency wear loaded side arms at all times during the range training. i think it is a good idea just in case some one loses it.....
Now that story scares the crap out of me.... Yikes!

It is a good point to keep a loaded gun on your side working something like that. I heard of a person going to a range, renting a gun, and then going out to the range and killing himself.

I've also heard of nice shooters letting the nice and curious person shoot thier gun out in a field and then getting shot by the nice and curious person. It is worth noting that Platt and Maddix (sp?) - two bad guys who shot up Miami back in 1986 got many of their guns by shooting people who were out target practicing with their own guns.

you're right...one shouldn't but in every case i have encountered, i have been right on the money.

Where i live, i will profile, and my hand will be closer to my 9 when surrounded by gangster looking thugs out here. It's sad, but true.

The other day I had some homies shoot next to me at the range. They were not observant of the one shot per second rule. While they were next to me, I shot out the head of my silouhette target. They werent there long, but the funniest thing to me was when they were done shooting, they reloaded their pistols and stuffed them down the front of there pants, no holster. First thing that popped into my head was A.D.
