Florida Gun SHow / XD Sales

Went to the North Florida Gun show. Took my carry class and shooting test. Its great to get that under my belt so I can now legally carry my XD45'z. I talked to several vendors at the show. Two said the XD's sales have really slowed for some reason. They said last year.. the year I bought 2 XD 45'z... was booming for XD's. They now left me with the idea that they are not selling any where near as fast? Has anyone else heard this or seen this first hand. Secondly, record numbers signed up for the concealed class today, lots of women too. Some thing is happening with guns and ownership... hopefully it will last. At any rate, my little 4" compact and my 5" tactical shot like a dream. I really love these guns... and would like another... Thanks, Buzz

Just my guess but I think XD sales at Gun Shows may have slowed because the people found out they are cheaper elsewhere?

Considering how hard it is to find magazines in stock, I doubt XD's are losing popularity.

I really don't have any idea on national sales, but vendors live in their own little world it seems. They seem to push what they sell most, or have the highest markup on (I personally know several who operate like this). Nothing wrong with that, it's a free market.

But just from seeing how many new members we get each week on the forum (and that's just the tip of the iceberg on sales), I'd have to say the XDs are still very popular and growing

I was recently at a gun show here in north West Fl. and the price on XDs is high, I would never pay that much unless it was the going price but they can be bought cheaper. At larger shows maybe the prices are lower due to more competition due to moe vendors. In general I think the sales of XDs is as strong or stronger than it has been. Just my 2 Cents worth.

Best price on Black XD 45-4" at N. Fla. gunshow today was $500. With tax total price would be $538.

Purchased Olive Drab XD 45-4" for $440 from Gunbroker.com, $495 including shipping and transfer fees.

Just not worth extra $43 to purchase at show.

Selection at show was also limited and available in black frame only.

If anything, I would guess that with CCW becoming more popular, more folks are going for smaller guns. Just a guess.

I was just in my local gun shop and he said that the XD sales were still good. I think most of the gun shows have a lot of the guns too high priced. I have found some good buys but you have to know ahead of time what the going prices are.
