+1 on the bronze brush. no chemicals I tried would get the lead smear out until I got a bronze brush.

now I shoot moly-coated from precisionbullets.com.

almost as cheap (at the time I bought them) , way cleaner, and no poof of smoke on each shot.

Regarding the use of ChoreBoy for cleaning barrels...you might want to give this a read:

I think I will stick to what was designed for barrel lead removal, i.e., the Lewis Lead Remover. Considering only the brass patches have to be periodically replaced, it is a small investment and perfectly safe to use.
