Got my extra power AGP mag springs
Big, big difference in terms of tension. I've always thought the OEM XD45 mag spring was on the weak side and so have others. I installed one AGP spring in my full size 13-round mag, and one in my 10-round (but same diameter) XD45 compact mag. (Note these springs will not work in the full size 10-round NY/CA restricted mags - different diamter). In the 10-round XD45 compact mag, I cut off one coil.
The tension in both mags is now comparable to my Glock mags. Of course the proof is how well they perform. I'll try them at the range this weekend. Until I am totally confident, the new extra power AGP springs will be for range use only. More to follow. AGP Arms, Inc.

Were your old springs worn. What type of different results are you expecting. Possibly longer life of fully loaded mags is the only benefit I could see in a gun that does not FTE or FTF.

Michael, I think you answered your own questions, no disrespect intended. But fully loaded mags alone do not contribute to spring wear per se. It's the contraction and expansion the occurs during extended firing, i.e., the two mags I use at the range and which now have extra power springs installed. Springs are 6 bucks a piece, hardly a big expense. And although I never had a functioning problem with the OEM springs, all things being equal heavier springs (one of the reasons the Wolff +10 extra power Glock springs sell so well), can make a difference in terms of optimum feed and function.

I like to use extra power springs in the .45 as I do think the stock springs are weaker than optimum.

I wonder if the stiffer magazine spring would help the XD-45ACP feed SWC any better?

Follow up:
I couldn't wait for the weekend so I headed over to the range after work with my trusty XD45c and two practice mags loaded with AGP extra power springs. One 13 rounder, the other a 10-round compact. Wow! I fired 200 of my reloads - half 230 grainers, half 180 grainers (both medium charges of Pistol Power and Clays). The rounds fed with distinct "authority" vs with. the weaker factory springs. 'Not one single failure of any kind. Now here's the interesting thing and this may lead to an important discussion: It is customary with my reloads to experience a few light strikes, maybe 3 or 4 out of a 100. I attribute this to insufficient primer seating, no big deal at the range, I just pull the trigger again and they go boom. But with the extra power springs, out of 200 reloads I fired tonight (twice as many as I usually shoot and same primers), not one single light strike. Could there be a connection? Heck if I know. Now granted, I did give all my rounds a very quick "primer touch test" prior to enure that all primers were seated uniformaly but still....I am wondering....could it be the heavier mag springs made a difference? If so, a 6 buck extra power spring is a wise investment. Based on my successful 200 round test, I have also installed the AGP springs in my two carry magazines.

I also ran my XD45 with the new AGP springs installed into two new magazines. Not once did I have a FTFeed like i had been getting on stock mags while using Federal HST JHP's. However, I cannot attribute this to just the new springs. My feed problems appeared to have stopped when I purchased the new mags. Still, if my old mags went weak in six months with less than 1000 rounds through them, I believe the new springs are still a wise investment.
Now, I gotta get two more springs for the other two older mags.

This is an interesting new subject - every other issue concerning the XD45 has pretty much been covered. It would seem that for 6 bucks, experimenting with a higher power mag spring might be just what the doctor ordered. I am sold on the fact now.
As for my Springer 4# carry trigger, job well done Scott!

I've noticed a few of my mags had wimpy springs, no problems yet, but I'll give these a try.
