I have been wanting to get a 45c for a while. I want one with an OD frame. Now here is my delima. My local gun store started a sale on XD's today. 45c or service models are $439..........but they only have them in all black. Do I hold out, or go for the deal?

Well don't bother with the Service as long as they are making the 45C.

depends on how badly you want the OD frame? If you can live without it, that is an awful nice price

yes it is an aweful nice price.

How hard would it be to duracoat the frame? I have read a little about it, but what kind of prep work does it take?

unless you really just must have the OD, then I would get the all black Compact for that price. I love mine .

I got my 40SC at a good deal, but got the all black instead of the OD one I wanted. I saved enough that I ordered some duracoat to make the frame green, and I actualy found a different color green that I like better than the stock green. ill let you know how the coating goes.

In the accesory section you can see the thread I started about painting to polymer frames.

or you could get the all black at that price, and then trade it in at a different shop that has the one you want.

Almost guaranteed to lose money that way...gun shops won't give you what you paid for a trade-in.

For that price..........get the black COMPACT.
But I don't like the green and earth tone frames myself.
I know you guys like them, but I just don't get it.
Now nice grey frame with a SS slide, that would be HOT.

I paid $600 for my XD45 compact with Trijicons on it last year.
That price will be really hard to beat.
