#2 may be the wrong powder, but nothing wrong with 950-1000 fps.
AA #2 is what he's sold on because of it's consistency. maybe we're having blowby issues...

If you are shooting a tactical, you could also put in a lighter recoil spring. If your shooting a Service, nobody makes reduced power recoil springs for it yet, so boosting the load just a little will tell you if it is a stiff recoil spring issue.

Figured it out. It was my magazine springs.

i'm shooting LRNSWC like a champ!

I've also learned how important it is to rotate your magazines.

Could you clarify please? I've had 4 failures to lock today with my brand new Tactical 9mm. I've been shooting 115 and 124 FMJ and out of 180 rounds had 4 FTL after the last round.

I think I might've been resting the thumb on the lock as well, but not sure. Pistocl is brand new, bone stock. Thanks!

i kept my magazines fully loaded all the time. that shortened the free length of the spring, which meant little pressure at the... er... plastic jobber at the top, so as the gun cycled the spring didn't force the plastic deally up fast enough to lift the slide lock. i re-stretched them, left them lay, reassembled, loaded up 1 at a time and it caught each time.

weak spring in summation.

Gotcha, thanks.

I'm pretty sure this isn't the case with my FTLs since the mags/springs are brand new, so it must've been my thumb. Back to the range this weekend to find out!!!

Stretching the springs is the worst possible thing you can do... your mag springs are wore out. What you need are stronger, replacement mag springs. One of the forum sponsors does sell them, I have'nt had any problems with mine, but when they do wear out, They'll be replaced with stronger springs they are easy to replace.
