Rounds moving in the magizine

I'm having a little problem where the rounds near the bottom of one of my magazines rattle around a little bit. It is a back and forth motion, not up and down. Is this caused by a weak mag spring?

It happens on mine too if I don't lightly tap the magazine on something to push all the rounds back as far as they will go.

They all rattle. Smack the back of the loaded mag against your palm, and go about your day...

My XD9sc short mags rattle when full.
When I load them into the XD they stop rattling.

Yeah, don't worry about it. It's not bad. All of them do it.

EDIT: I forgot my manners! Welcome to the forum from AZ!

Magazines are made to hold the Longest OAL cartridges in any caliber.
A 230gr round may be a smidge longer than say a 200gr load.

Not unique to the XD either, the question is WHY do they rattle? All the rounds should be under compression.

It is my understanding that they rattle back and forth in the long direction of the round, not sideways against the compression of the spring.

It's not a problem or a weak spring and it's not just you.
