new xd45 owner

hey guys, just picked up my xd45 compact bi-tone thisn morning from Northwest Armory in Portland Oregon.i decided to support the little guy this time round.paid $539.00 +$10.00 background check.i thought that was a fair price for a gun that is in high demand here.got some 230 grain FMJ for initial shoot and also picked up a box of hydrashocks for carry.it was a hard decision deciding between the compact and service model.the compact grip is kinda short for my hand, but the service model just seemed a little too long.can't wait to shoot it.BTW,i sold my Glock 22 to finance this purchase.p.s.the holster in the kit is junk in my opion,i still use an old Galco fanny pack for carry.my Uncle Mikes kydex holster for my 22 was far better.will be looking into a nice IWB soon.

Congrats on the new XD! Sorry to hear that you had to sacrifice your Glock 22, though, as I have a 3rd gen. G22 and I alternate between carrying it and my XD 45 Service. I shoot both equally as well and both are equally as comfortable to conceal carry in my IWB Comp-Tac Minotaur holsters.

By the way, we like pictures here and...

Nice buy jayb...I'm a fairly new owner of and XD45 Compact...love mine too!
Try the 13 round Magazine if you need a little room...it extends the length of the grip.

Cool

Congrats jayb....just bought the XD .45 Compact kit today myself..in basic black...about the same price, tho' I got $210 on trade in for my .45 MilPro.

What don't you like about the free holster? Works fine for me, and the price was right... tho' for CC I'll be ordering a Crossbreed ST. Until then the free one is okay and the XD fits my old Desantis Patriot shoulder rig after adjustment to the retention strap to keep it off the grip safety.

Congrats on your purchase! I bought a .45ACP in all black last weekend and shot it for the first time today. I shot about 50 rds of Atlanta arms reloads and 90 rds of Winchester white box. No FTF or FTE and was very accurate for me at 10 yards.

It's a great gun and you'll love it!
