Did some work on my sear and firing pin tonight

So after a great day at the range I decided to take the plunge and(basically) completely disassemble my XD for the first time. No big deal, i'm pretty used to doing these sorts of things. While I had it apart I decided to fully polish the operating surfaces of my sear and striker catch. My crappy camera won't get decent pictures of it but its nice and shiny now . I would estimate a half lb of pull weight reduction and it is MUCH smoother! All in all, a great little mod for the evening.

I did that plus the safety lever and both sides of the sear. My 9-tac that has maybe 250 rounds through it feels very much like my 9-service that has 12,000 rounds. This is now a mandatory "mod" to all my XDs.

just go here for disassembly instructions: Springfield Armory XD and HS2000.com

Follow the instructions for removing the striker assembly and for removing the sear assembly. Once they are out just pull out a dremel with polishing wheel or just do it by hand. Pretty simple!

Dremel Head...I think I have every attachment known to man..a little clean up on the locking block as well looks and makes it seem at least like it cycles better.A block of Jewelers rouge goes a long way.Dremel Head

thanks for the tip.

I think i've got every dremel tip attachment known to man short of the ones for routing, chainsaw sharpening, etc.
