slide dissasembly?????????
new guy, found the sticky, can't get this pin out without force and don't want to break anything. anyone else have this problem???
To remove the firing pin safety, you will have to first remove the firing pin safety retaining pin. ![]() Step 1. Looking at the bottom of the slide, push the firing pin safety into the slide as far it will go and hold it. Take a small screwdriver and pull the pin out from the rear. There is a small notch in the pin, use it to pull the the pin out. It should not take any force to pull the pin out using force can bend and damage the pin. ![]() step 2. Still holding the safety down slowly release the tension. Be careful, underneath the safety there is a small spring that can fly out. Now that the tension is released pull the firing pin safty out. |

That pin is relatively easy to pull out. Try using a really small screwdriver to pry it out from underneath the notch.

got it, problem was that during factory assembly they didn't get the extractor seated quite all the way. once i pulled the pin out i saw a mar on the other end where it scraped the groove on the extractor channel. upon reassembly pin would not seat all the way back in, so I gave the extractor a small tap with a punch to seat. Pin slid right back in. thx for reply though.
